Concepts4Learning is a place to gain a deeper understanding about the day to day teaching of key concept areas in primary teaching.

My name is Alison Campbell, and I have a strong passion for good pedagogy and for really understanding the building blocks of the concepts we teach, especially the ones that many students find difficult to grasp.

My aim is to look at how we can build more solid foundations in maths, reading, writing, inquiry… so students have the skills they need to succeed as they move through their education journey, and so that we as teachers do not feel like we are stumbling in the dark, trying to understand what the “Big Ideas” in the curriculum really are.

I have a Masters degree in Education and extensive experience as a school teacher (both primary and secondary), principal, educational consultant, and university academic.
